Revenge is theirs… damn it!!
Well, we beat the Mariners 14-10 last Saturday, and then they turned around and beat Ian’s Marlins 18-15 last night.
Ian did well again. He’s positively crushing the ball for the most part. He got on base four times (we’ll call it four “hits”; remember, the term “hit” is used extremely loosely when dealing with 7- & 8-year-olds) and scored either once or twice. Neither of us can remember which. And, he made his first assist as he threw a kid out at first. He got a grounder hit to him when he was playing 2B, and he kinda bobbled it a little, but he stayed with it and made a really good throw (he doesn’t exactly possess the best arm) and got the kid by a couple steps. It was rather awesome from a paternal standpoint.
There was another kid on the team that had an unassisted double play; that was pretty cool too.
Another game tonight, against the Cardinals. Ian’s all stressed out about it, since the real Cardinals are his favorite team. I told him that the real Cardinals won’t be affected at all by what happens with his game, and also that he plays for the Marlins, so he had better try to win. Big goober.

Baseball- Is-My-Life Grandma thinks he came in twice.
Rock on, Grandma! Twice it is, then.
